Supporting our rangatahi to realise their potential in hauora and sport

Te Puna Ariki is committed to nurturing the potential of our rangatahi in sport and hauora through targeted programmes that empower and support their wellbeing and performance.

Our nutrition programmes provide education and resources to help young people make informed choices for optimal health, and grow their communities access to kai sovereignty. The Add-Up Sport Performance Academy offers specialised training, mentorship, and development pathways to enhance athletic potential. Additionally, our sport team sponsorship ensures that financial barriers do not limit participation, enabling rangatahi to thrive in their chosen sports. Through these initiatives, Te Puna Ariki fosters a holistic approach to rangatahi success, both on and off the field.

Nutrition and Kai Sovereignty

This programme empowers rangatahi to make hauora-centric kai choices while championing food sovereignty in their communities. Through hands-on workshops, mātauranga Māori, and practical skills in growing, sourcing, and preparing kai, rangatahi learn the importance of nutrition, sustainable food systems, and cultural food practices.

Add-up Performance

Add-Up Performance is dedicated to growing the potential of all rangatahi through inclusive training programmes that cater to every skill level. By working alongside local communities and kura, we create accessible pathways for athletic and personal growth. Our approach goes beyond physical training, focusing on holistic athlete development—building mental resilience, cultural identity, and overall wellbeing. Through this kaupapa, we prepare rangatahi not just for success in sport but for lifelong fitness, leadership, and career readiness.

Sport Team Sponsorship

Our Sport Team Sponsorship goes beyond a transactional relationship. We champion the holistic well-being of athletes through a kaupapa-driven approach. Sponsored teams must commit to wānanga on whakapapa and kōrero tuku iho, and ground their kaupapa in Te Puna Ariki values. Athletes are encouraged to engage in our wider programmes, enhancing their growth beyond sport. Before any tournament, teams must also participate in marae-based wānanga to strengthen whanaungatanga and mental preparedness.
